For the past four years, I’ve been on a journey to declutter—making progress, but still holding onto things I don’t need. The 2025 Room-by-Room Decluttering Challenge isn’t just about tidying up; it’s about creating a home that feels free, open, and welcoming. More than just organizing, this challenge is about letting go of stress and embracing a fresh start. Ready to finally break free from clutter? Join me, and let’s do this together!

For the past four years, I’ve been on a journey of decluttering—sorting through boxes, organizing rooms, and letting go of things that I no longer want. It has been a very long process with both small victories and frustrating setbacks. Over the years, even with the progress that I’ve made, I find myself still holding onto things I don’t need. This time, I’m ready to make my final attempt with the 2025 Room-by-Room Decluttering Challenge! This isn’t just about tidying up; it’s about finally creating a home that feels open, and welcoming. A home where I don’t feel embarrassed to have people over but instead excited to invite them in.

We’re In This Together

Decluttering can feel overwhelming when you try to tackle it alone, but this time, you don’t have to do this alone. This challenge is about accountability, support, and encouragement. We’re going to take it one room at a time, breaking it down into manageable steps so it doesn’t feel like an impossible mountain to climb. Whether you’re just starting out or, like me, have been working on this for years, this is your sign to join us and make the breakthrough you've been waiting for.

The Game Plan: Six Weeks to a Clutter-Free Home

Over the next six weeks, we’ll focus on a different space each week, decluttering room by room so that by the end of the challenge, our homes feel lighter, more organized, and more peaceful. Here’s the breakdown:

  • Week 1: Bedroom & Closet – Creating a calm and restful space by letting go of clothes we never wear and clearing out unnecessary items.

  • Week 2: Kitchen & Pantry – Making room for functional, easy-to-access spaces by decluttering outdated food, unused gadgets, and organizing essentials for smoother meal prep.

  • Week 3: Living Room – Making our shared areas into a space designed for spending time with friends & family.

  • Week 4: Bathroom – Simplifying these often-overlooked spaces by tossing expired products, organizing daily essentials, and creating an easy-to-clean space.

  • Week 5: Entryway & Shoes – Clearing out old shoes and clutter to maintain our entryway for a more functional, and stress-free area into our home.

  • Week 6: Additional Areas – The final challenge—tackling those forgotten spaces like storage closets, junk drawers, and garages to ensure everything has a place and purpose.

Decluttering for a New Mindset

Decluttering isn’t just about getting rid of things; it’s about shifting our mindset and habits. Over the years, I’ve felt overwhelmed and reactive, and a big part of that was the state of my space. This year’s challenge is about letting go—not just of physical clutter, but also the mental stress that comes with it. I want to walk into my home and feel more peaceful, and not stressed. I want my space to reflect the life I’m building, not just the things I’ve accumulated over time.

A Space That Feels Amazing

I keep imagining the day when my home is finally clutter-free—where everything has its place, and I no longer have to scramble to clean when I have friends coming over. I want to reach a point where I’m not just shifting clutter from one spot to another, but truly only keeping the things that are important to me. More than anything, I want anyone who visits to feel at home and be inspired to create the same for themselves. That’s what this challenge is really about—not just tidying up, but transforming our homes into spaces that truly support us.
